Mandela Day has always been a symbol of hope, unity, and compassion, and this year, Yamaha Motor Southern Africa is once again turning the throttle for a greater good. Join the Soweto Motorbike School – Mandela Day Charity Run on Saturday, 19 July 2025, and ride with purpose.
The charity ride kicks off at Linex Yamaha Sandton, located at 19 Eastern Service Road, Kelvin. Riders will gather early and hit the road at 09:00 sharp, cruising together towards the Thato Ke Matla Orphanage Home in Orange Farm. This orphanage is more than just a destination, it’s a sanctuary for vulnerable children who depend on community support to thrive.
This event is not just about motorcycles, it’s about making a tangible difference. In the weeks leading up to Mandela Day, Yamaha is hosting a donation drive to collect:
All donated items will be hand-delivered to the children at the orphanage as part of the event. Your generosity, whether you’re riding or simply contributing, will go directly toward bringing joy and support to the lives of these young individuals.
Drop your contributions at any of the following locations before the event:
There are multiple ways to get involved:
Whether you’re a seasoned biker or a supporter from the sidelines, your actions have the power to create meaningful change.
As Nelson Mandela once said, “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others.” This Mandela Day, we invite you to ride not just for the love of the road, but for the love of humanity. Let’s show the next generation what biker brotherhood really means.
