Twenty years is a long time in motorcycle retail. Brands come and go, the rand does what the rand does, and riders’ tastes swing from big adventure bikes to small, affordable ones and back again. Biker’s Warehouse, established in 2006 and trading from Northriding in Johannesburg’s north, has been through all of it, and this October it is marking its 20th birthday with a month-long competition.

The headline is simple: spend R2,000 or more in-store during October and you’re in the draw for one of five bikes, from a Honda XL750 Transalp to an electric balance bike for a toddler, plus a long list of helmets, riding kit, tyres and service parts. Biker’s Warehouse puts the total value of the prizes at more than R600,000.

Twenty years of Biker’s Warehouse

Biker’s Warehouse calls itself a one-stop bike shop, and the range backs that up. It sells new motorcycles from GasGas, Honda, Husqvarna, Kawasaki, Kayo, KTM, QJ Motor, Suzuki, SYM and TVS, alongside pre-owned bikes, spares and a large gear store covering helmets, boots, riding clothing, eyewear, gloves and luggage. It also offers rider training and supplies bikes for fleets.

That mix of road, adventure, off-road and commuter brands is reflected in the prize line-up, which covers just about every kind of rider, including the very youngest.

How the competition works

To enter, spend R2,000 or more in-store at Biker’s Warehouse between 1 and 31 October 2026. Five finalists are drawn each week, giving 20 finalists in total, and the winners are drawn at a birthday evening at the shop on 3 November.

The five bikes up for grabs

The five headline prizes, with the manufacturers’ published figures:

Honda XL750 Transalp

The biggest prize is a proper middleweight adventure bike. Honda South Africa quotes 67.5 kW and 75 Nm from its 755 cc parallel twin, and the Transalp rides on a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheel, with five riding modes and switchable traction control. It’s equally at home on the daily commute, a weekend tour or a gravel road.

QJ Motor SRT450

A smaller adventure bike from Chinese maker QJ Motor. Its 449.5 cc parallel twin makes about 48 hp in European specification, and it also uses 21-inch and 18-inch spoked wheels, making it a light, approachable way into adventure riding.

Suzuki GSX250R

A fully faired sport bike built around a 248 cc parallel twin of about 25 hp, with a seat height of around 790 mm. Light, frugal and easy to manage, it’s a popular first bike for newly licensed riders.

TVS NTorq 125

A 125 cc scooter for getting around town, with a 6.9 kW single-cylinder engine and Bluetooth-connected instruments that pair with your phone.

Husqvarna 12eDrive by STACYC

The smallest prize is for the next generation of riders: an electric balance bike for children aged three to five. It has three speed settings (8, 11 and 14 km/h) and a battery that lasts up to an hour, a gentle first step towards two wheels.

Gear, tyres, insurance and more

The prize list goes well beyond the bikes. It includes helmets from Scorpion, Arai, HJC, Shark and LS2, plus an SGI Tyro helmet and glove combo; Alpinestars jackets and pants, a Fly kit hamper and a Leatt neck brace and off-road kit; and tyre combos from Bridgestone, Michelin and Pirelli. There’s also a year of comprehensive insurance from QuickSure, subject to its terms.

For the spanner-minded, there are service kit vouchers featuring HiFlo, DID, SBS, Motobatt and JT Sprockets, hampers from Motul, Motorex and Bel-Ray, a Bandit decal voucher and Oxford goodie bags. Biker’s Warehouse says more prizes will be added during the month.

The birthday evening

The celebrations come together on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, from 6pm to 9pm at Biker’s Warehouse in Northriding, with the final prize draw on the night. It’s a chance to mark 20 years of bikes, riders and shared memories, and to look ahead to the next chapter.
