Well, hello Daily Rider! We’ve introduced ourselves, but perhaps it’s time to tell you a little more about who we are and what actually happens at Synergy Racing Academy.
We’re based in Centurion, and we’ve been involved in motorcycle training for many years. We’ve also been a preferred training provider for Kawasaki South Africa since 2011. But enough of the formal stuff!
What do we actually do?
We teach complete beginners who’ve never ridden a motorcycle before, help riders prepare for their K53 motorcycle licence tests, work with people returning to riding after a few years away, and help experienced riders improve their skills. We also head out to Gerotek for more advanced training and cornering courses. Basically, if it involves learning something useful on a motorcycle, we’re probably interested!

And what happens on a training day?
Well, that depends entirely on who’s arriving. Some beginners are so excited they can hardly wait to get onto a motorcycle. Others look as though they’re seriously questioning their decision to book. And then there are the experienced riders, who sometimes discover that a few strategically placed cones can be surprisingly challenging!
That’s where our instructors come in. We have a team of instructors who genuinely enjoy what they do. They’re experienced, patient when patience is needed, firm when safety demands it, and certainly not afraid of a little humour.
They also understand that no two students are alike. Some people need a demonstration. Others need a different explanation. And sometimes someone needs to try the same manoeuvre a few more times before it clicks. Believe me, our instructors have probably heard every excuse imaginable for knocking over a cone! But that’s part of training. Nobody arrives knowing everything, and nobody should feel embarrassed about needing help.
One of the best parts of our day is seeing a student who arrived nervous or uncertain suddenly realise, “Hang on, I can actually do this!” Those smiles never get old.
Over time, we’ll introduce you to some of the people behind the helmets. We’ll share a few training stories, some lovely feedback from students and perhaps the occasional funny moment. Trust me, there’s never a shortage of those!

But there’s more to Synergy than training
We host free Coffee & Cornering mornings where riders get together, enjoy a coffee, talk motorcycles and pick up a few useful pointers. We also organise social rides because, believe it or not, we occasionally like to get out of the training yard ourselves!
We’re serious about rider safety, but we don’t believe motorcycle training needs to feel intimidating or overly formal. We like people to feel welcome, ask questions, have a laugh and leave having learnt something useful.
And that’s exactly what we’d like to bring to Daily Rider: a little knowledge, some riding advice, stories from our training yard, things that make us laugh and probably the occasional topic that gets everyone talking.
So whether you’re a complete beginner, have been riding for years or simply enjoy talking motorcycles, we look forward to getting to know you. And if you’re in the Centurion area, you’re always welcome to join one of our Coffee & Cornering mornings or social rides.
Come say hello. We promise we won’t make you ride around cones just for visiting!
